On product pages logged in customers see an Add to gift registry button under Add to cart. For variable products they choose the options first; the chosen variation and quantity go on the registry. Logged out visitors see a link to log in, or nothing, as you choose.
Hosts manage the list on the Items tab: change quantities, add a note for guests such as a colour, move items up or down, or remove them.
