The EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and the Battery Regulation bring Digital Product Passports: a page, reached by a QR code on the product, that tells buyers, repairers and recyclers what the product is made of, how to use and repair it, and how to dispose of it. EU Digital Product Passport for WooCommerce lets you prepare and publish those passports right from your products.

Features
What it does, screen by screen
The Product passport tab with the battery template and the completeness score
- A completeness score shows which required fields are still missing, on the product, the passports list and the products list.
- Compliance dashboard and weekly digest: passports by template with completeness and deadlines, the least complete passports, and a Monday email with incomplete and unregistered passports. Pro
- Serial and batch passports: create passports per unit or per batch under a product passport, as battery passports need. Each unit gets its own ID, page and QR code, with GS1 Digital Link /21/{serial} or /10/{batch} links that your store answers. Thousands of units are created in the background. Pro
A public passport page
- schema.org JSON-LD on each page and a public REST endpoint with the passport as JSON.
- Access levels: mark each field as public, for repairers and recyclers, or for authorities. Restricted fields are hidden on the page, in JSON-LD, the REST endpoint and PDFs until an access key is entered. Battery defaults follow Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542. Pro
The passport card with the QR code on the product page
- Download each passport’s QR code as PNG or SVG from the product screen.
The passports list
- Export all passports, or one, as JSON.
- Multilingual passports: translate the text fields of each passport into any of the 24 EU languages. Visitors get their browser language or pick one on the page; links from a WPML or Polylang shop carry the shop language. Pro

Questions
Frequently asked
Which products need a passport, and when?
Batteries first: EV, light means of transport and industrial batteries over 2 kWh need a battery passport from February 2027. Textiles, furniture, iron and steel, tyres and other groups follow as the EU adopts delegated acts under ESPR. Check the rules for your product group.
Does the plugin send data anywhere?
No. Passports, QR codes and pages are made and served by your own site. The EU registry upload is a manual step with the CSV export.
Will printed QR codes keep working?
Yes. The passport ID never changes and the page stays live even after the product is deleted. Only changing the passport address setting breaks printed codes, and the setting warns you.
Can I use GS1 Digital Link?
Yes. Set the QR format to GS1 Digital Link and add a GTIN to the product. The QR code then holds yourstore.com/01/{GTIN}, which your store forwards to the passport. Products without a valid GTIN fall back to the passport address.
Can customers see draft passports?
No. Draft passports are only visible to shop managers. Visitors get a not found page.
Where is the GTIN taken from?
From the GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN field WooCommerce added to the Inventory tab.
